Water Scarcity: Lawmaker Commissions Borehole Projects in Ikorodu

The Lawmaker representing Igbogbo/ Bayeku, Ijede and Imota LCDAs in the Lagos State House of Assembly and Chairman, Public Account Committee (PAC), Hon. Nurudeen Saka-Sholaja, has commissioned 12 Boreholes projects across Ikorodu Constituency II, assuring Constituents of more projects in the offing.

The Borehole located in front of the Chief Imam of Igbogbo’s house was first to be commissioned amidst so much excitement, after which the long convoy moved to Ibeshe, Ilado Odumade Baiyeku, Igbe Laara, Ebute Olowo in Ijede, Igbopa, Aje street in Imota, Ajegunle, itun Opopo amongst others.

The twelve (12) bold grassroots footprints of the lawmaker across Ikorodu constituency 2 witnessed the presence of Party Leaders and Council Chairmen, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, Builder Olusesan Daini of Igbogbo /Bayeku LCDA, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba of Ijede LCDA, Omo’ba Wasiu Agoro of Imota LCDA, APC Stalwarts amongst others.

Speaking with the newsmen, the Lawmaker said his water projects were designed to fulfil part of his campaign promises to rural areas in dire need of clean and hygienic water.

Sholaja said “It’s in a view to ensure that access water is available to my Constituents, that’s why I am commissioning additional 12 boreholes to the existing ones across my Constituency many of which are still very much active.

He reiterated that the value of water is much more than its price and explained further that ending water challenges in all the communities in Ikorodu Constituency II is a core focus of his programme.

In the last six years, the Lawmaker revealed that he has constructed and delivered more than 24 borehole projects across Ikorodu Constituency II. “This is not the first time that I would be erecting borehole projects in my Constituency, it has turned to one of my traditional projects initiated to bring social amenities closer to the grassroots,” he said.

He assured to facilitate more State projects to Ikorodu Constituency II, revealing that more roads would be rehabilitated soon.

Responding to Newsmen, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, commended the gesture of the Lawmaker, saying Hon. Nurudeen Saka-Sholaja is loyal, trustworthy and dependable. Also, Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe, in the same vein applauded Hon. Saka-Sholaja for the borehole project.
