The United State of America Development Foundation (USADF) in collaboration with the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSTEF) is partnering with Entertainment Konzult Ltd (EKL), one of the leading entertainment production and training hubs in Nigeria, to offer free training opportunities for unemployed youths in Lagos.

The 6-weeks course is meant to train youths who are interested in building a career in Nollywood and use movie production as a means of livelihood.

Giving details about the training, Mr. Willie Workman Oga, the CEO of Entertainment Konzult Ltd (EKL), explained that youths would be trained to become Production Assistants, thereby reducing the unemployment rate in Lagos State.

Oga mentioned that after the 6-weeks training, youths would be assigned to go for three months internship so that they can gain practical experiences.

He commended the USADF and LSTEF for supporting the training, stressing that, “this has come timely and should be sustained considering the fact that the program will help to keep our youths off the street and away from crime and bad vices.

“It will open doors to those who are dreaming of becoming Actors, Cinematographers, Directors, and Producers, etc. as they will make an entry in Nollywood with the basic skills they would be learning,” he added.

Registration for the Program is free and interested applicants can register with their LASSRA number. Stipends are also given to students to aid their transportation for the 6 weeks of training and throughout the 3 months internship.
