SHEpreneur Africa Award has honoured nine outstanding women across Africa for their outstanding contributions, promotion, dedication, and excellence in women empowerment and entrepreneurship within their communities and society at large.

Recipients of the awards were announced at a ceremony in Lagos, Nigeria, to commemorate International Women’s Day 2025 celebration.

The award ceremony, which brought together distinguished guests and participants from various sectors, highlighted the significant role women play in driving economic growth and sustainable development in Africa.

Eight notable women including H.E Laila Rahhall El Atfani, Hon (Prof) Robinah K. Nanyunja, Betty Abah and others from various disciplines such as entrepreneurs, NGO founders, and business leaders received the Lifetime Achievement Award for their exceptional commitment to women’s empowerment, which has inspired many and set a benchmark for future generations.

Dr. Agata Smolarek, Vice President of SHEpreneur Africa Award, announced that plans are in top gear to launch an open call for registration for the SHEpreneur Africa Award (SHEPaa) competition in Nigeria and across Africa.

According to Dr. Smolarek, “SHEPaa’s focus is geared towards eradicating unemployment for young women who want to be free from poverty and become financially self-sustaining.”

She emphasized that her organization is open to partnerships that would facilitate the success of the competition, calling on stakeholders to join hands in empowering the next generation of women entrepreneurs across the continent.
