Serene EARLY-TROBB Concepts will be organizing a One-day conference for teenagers and young adults on Mental Health and Menstrual Health Hygiene Management to mark its third year anniversary.

The event which is scheduled to hold in October in Lagos will be used to mark the third year anniversary while the free vocational skills training and entrepreneurship session has been concluded in August.

It would be on Understanding mental health and wellbeing, Menstrual Health Management, entrepreneurship, interactive sessions on rape, abuse, etc

The Founder of Serene EARLY-TROBB Concepts, Miss Rhoda Olorunfemi, said the free vocational skills for teenage girls, which were held in August and the upcoming event for teenagers are ways of giving back to the younger generation with fulfilling the purpose of the organization for children, teenagers, and young adults.

In her word, Rhoda stated it’s been challenging but they have come a long way within the short period, which makes them determined to do more to better the lives of the younger generation when it comes to those who need empowerment, entrepreneurship, understand better about abuse and rape prevention, identity crises, low self-esteem, insecurities and to generally overcome mental health challenges which comes alongside growing up.

Continuing, she disclosed that the teenage stage is a period where most children struggle with pornography, victimized with abuse and rape, lesbianism and gay, personality disorder, bullying, peer pressures mental health, Identity crisis, sex, low self-esteem, insecurities, fear of death, drug and substance abuse, addictions and many others.

Our aim is to enlighten them on these ones because it has become an escalated issue and the internet has done no good in this. They assume all of these things are right and those who do know the right thing find it hard to demonstrate due to fear of rejection among friends.”

“When it comes to empowering girls and younger generation at large in education, Zero Hunger, providing free sanitary pads, free skills training, and entrepreneurship, social and legal services it’s because we are in touch with the grassroots ranging from orphanages, improvised communities to urban areas. And that is what makes us different from many others”

The facilitators of the free vocational skills training, Manager, DFS Luxury Apartments and Towers, Oladunni Akomolafe, said, the empowerment would change the girls’ perspectives about life, in terms of identity,  to discover and pursue their God-given skills and talents, unleash potentials, and build them up on their right cause and their path of life.

Akomolafe however urged the Nigerian government to consistently give opportunities for the youths on empowerment programs for start-ups, beginners and support them financially through a partnership program with banks like microfinance banks for proper access to loans.

“Skills acquisition should be a continuous program. Government should fix up the inflation rate, unemployment, unfavourable government policy, monetary policies, inadequate infrastructures and power supply, insecurities, ineffective leadership, corruption at large”

Another facilitator, Audit Analyst, Oluwayemisi Otufodunrin, said, the training has provided them with skills that they can go ahead to refine, gain expertise in, and in turn establish as a main or additional stream of income.
