The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Jesus House Parish, Ogba, Lagos, has marked its 25th anniversary with a major community outreach—commissioning a borehole water project for residents of the Oladele community in Ogba, where the church is located.

The silver jubilee celebration, held on Sunday, May 25, 2025, attracted hundreds of attendees, including members, ministers, community leaders, and residents who gathered to celebrate the church’s 25 years of spiritual and social impact since its establishment in 2000.

As part of the commemorative activities, the church formally commissioned the borehole, which, although informally accessible to residents over the years, was officially handed over to the community for public use during the event. The project aims to provide residents with a reliable source of potable water, addressing long standing challenges with water access in the area.

Pastor Okeson Oche Onu, the pastor in charge of the parish, explained the motivation behind the gesture. “Several times, I see people, especially children, walking long distances or relying on vendors with unknown water sources. This exposes them to infections and other health risks. Inspired by compassion and the teachings of my late mother who always said, ‘Never deny anyone water—even your enemies,’ we decided to make this project an official and daily blessing to our neighbours,” he said.

The initiative was met with heartfelt gratitude from community members. Representing the Landlords’ Association of Oladele Street, Secretary-General Mr. Kingsley Igwe praised the church for its continued support. “Jesus House has always been a peaceful and positive presence in our area. This water project is a generous and impactful gesture that every landlord and tenant on this street deeply appreciates. May God bless the church abundantly,” he said.

The commissioning was conducted by Pastor Olusegun Oyedemi on behalf of the Pastor-in-Charge of RCCG Lagos Province 60, Pastor Jungle Onafowakan. The event drew enthusiastic participation and expressions of appreciation from residents, reinforcing the bond between the church and its host community.

The anniversary celebrations began at 1:25 p.m. on Saturday with a symbolic 25-hour marathon of praise and worship, signifying one hour for each year of the church’s existence. “The only thing we can truly give to God is our praise. For 25 years of His grace upon Jesus House, we return all glory to Him,” Pastor Okeson said.

The RCCG Jesus House Ogba’s 25th anniversary not only celebrated spiritual milestones but also demonstrated the church’s commitment to tangible community development.
