Writer should always be ready to develop the 'quest to know' mindset as this will help them to delve more into a particular story they might be working on in other to have a full picture of the scenario, without being in a haste to publish half baked news.

Journalist and Founder, Media Career Network, Lekan Orufodunrin has charged young writers on the need to focus on solution journalism.

Otufodunrin made the charge during an online training of writers recruited by BONews Service, an online development news platform.

Orufodunrin who was speaking to the writers explained that there’s always a new perspective on a particular story or issue that’s trending on social media.

He further gave the volunteers an in-depth understanding on how to generate contents from trending stories and issues, how to pitch a story and how to carry out a responsive follow-up, he also pressed further to discuss how they can learn from another website to develop their content, how to initiate ideas and develop it, and how to profound proper solution to every problem analyze.

While rounding up, he said a writer should always be ready to develop the ‘quest to know’ mindset as this will help them to delve more into a particular story they might be working on in other to have a full picture of the scenario, without being in a haste to publish half baked news.

While speaking about the news platform, Publisher,  BONews Service, Blessing Oladunjoye explained that the platform is focused on issues around women, persons with disabilities, and children.

She urged the volunteers to focus on generating original content, as that is what the website is all about.

Oluwatobi Oyetunde, a journalist with an online news medium also taught the volunteers how to upload stories to the website using WordPress.

On the job training is good for the newbies in the industry to improve their skills and to have knowledge in the work environment.
