The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Lagos State Chapter has condemned the continuous rise in the case of rape and sexual violence in the country.

The association in a press statement signed by the Chairperson, Comrade Adeola Ekine and Secretary Comrade Lilian Ario lamented that the cases of rape incidents have been increasingly alarming in the past few weeks.

Ekine noted that it is imperative that relevant stakeholders take urgent actions to nip the menace in the bud.

“Rape cases have been on the increase, while we are talking about one incident, another is happening elsewhere.
“There is no better time to put in place adequate measures that would end the incessant rape incidents than now,” she added.

She also demands that the law enforcement agencies ensure that all the victims of rape and sexual violence get justice.
