Member, Lagos State House of Assembly, Kosofe Constituency 1, Hon Sanni Ganiyu Okanlawon has revealed the efforts of the Lagos State Government to tackle the menace of flooding being experienced by residents of Olabode Aluko Street, Olojojo Oworonshoki area of the state.

Okanlawon revealed this during a stakeholder meeting with residents of the community in Oworonshoki.

He explained that efforts are ongoing to tackle the flooding challenge permanently, and noted that palliative measures would be rolled out promptly.

Hon Okanlawon thereafter appealed to residents to collaborate with the government officials when the project commences stressing that he would not relent in performing his responsibilities of ensuring that the government maintains a flood-free and clean environment in his Constituency.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment represented by Engr. Olalekan Ajani, Director of Drainage and Maintenance assured the community that the flooding would be tackled frontally through rigorous cleaning and establishment of right-of-way in the year 2022.

The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Council, Hon Moyosore Ogunlewe, who was in attendance with his team, promised that funds would be provided to address the flooding issues before the commencement of the project next year.

On his part, the Chairman of Ifesowapo CDA, Mr. Balogun Ajisegiri advised the members of the community to remove structures obstructing the flow of water.

Also present at the stakeholders meeting were; Chairman of Adebare CDA, Chief Odunlaran Sikiru, The Councilor of Ward B, Oworonshoki, Prince Kehinde Saliu was also present at the meeting.
