The Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) Lagos State Chapter has commended the Executive Chairman of the Lagos East Local Council Development Area, Hon. Muibi Alade Folawiyo, for his commitment towards enhancing disability inclusion.
JONAPWD Lagos through its Chairman, Dr. Adebukola Adebayo gave the commendation when Executive members of the association paid a courtesy visit to the office of the Chairman.
The advocacy visit also witnessed the presentation of an administrative office to JONAPWD Lagos, located in Lagos Island.
Adebayo in his address commended the chairman as he has blazed the trail as a pacesetter by being one of the first grassroots governments to appoint a Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Disability Affairs.
Adebayo also commended the generosity of the Chairman for presenting the office to JONAPWD Lagos at no cost.
He said “the Executive Chairman has demonstrated and continued to practice inclusive governance, and we appeal to other Local Government Councils and Local Council Development Areas in Lagos State to emulate the act of kindness and readiness to serve the disability community.”
Responding, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Folawiyo assured that he will continue to provide the necessary support to the disability community in the state.
