The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ikeja Local Branch, in collaboration with the Ikeja Local Government organized the ‘operation clean Ikeja’, an exercise carried out to keep the local government and its immediate environ clean and tidy.

Youths who are members of the Ikeja Chapter of the National Youth Council embarked on the exercise with the aim of making the environment clean and protecting residents from being infected with diseases that could be contracted in an unclean environment.

The exercise was declared open by the Executive Chairman of the Local Government, Engr. Dr. Mojeed Balogun.

One of the places visited by the ‘operation clean Ikeja’ team was Anifowoshe Primary Health Centre, a public health centre used mostly by Ikeja residents

While commenting on the activity, the state’s NYCN financial secretary, Comrade Olaide Yusuf, the exercise was to mark the ‘National Youth Day’ earlier declared by the country and, also, to clean up the environment and make it a better place for its residents.
