Mr. Wale Fatade, the Commissioning Editor of the Conversation Africa, has urged journalists to expand their network as part of efforts to maximizing media career opportunities.

Mr. Fatade made this known while speaking to journalists at the February edition of the Monthly fellowship of Journalists for Christ, which held in Ogba, Lagos.

Mr. Fatade who highlighted for ways to maximize media career opportunities stressed that, “as journalists, you must expand your network, update yourself continually, be open to new things and do not mid doing something for free.”

While charging journalists to expand their network, the veteran journalist noted that, “you are as good and as strong as your pool of friends. If you’re praying, help your prayers by connecting with people. Pray, work hard and position yourself properly.”

He also added that “a certain percentage of your income must be set aside to update your knowledge. You have no business informing others if you are not informed. Expand your horizon and be willing to learn new things. Be prayerful and ever ready.”

Earlier in his welcome remarks, the JFC President, Mr. Lekan Otufodunrin, mentioned that the JFC monthly fellowship creates opportunity for journalists to develop themselves professionally and spiritually.

He also charged the journalists to be hardworking and set high standards for themselves.
