The former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili has confirmed that she turned down an offer to run on a presidential ticket with Muhammadu Buhari in 2011.

Oby Ezekwesili disclosed this on the microblogging website, Twitter earlier today.

In her word, she said, “Many People: Please tell us, is it true you actually rejected the offer to be Vice Presidential Candidate to Buhari as Pastor Bakare @T_Bakare said? Me: Yes it is true,” Mrs. Ezekwesili said in a tweet on Tuesday.

Oby Ezekwesili comments came after Pastor Tunde Bakare, who happens to be Buhari’s running mate in that election, said she rejected the offer to run alongside Mr. Buhari in 2011.

BONews recalled that the convener of the BringBackOurGirls campaign, who was one of those who supported Mr. Buhari to be president in 2015, has now become one of the top critics questioning his administration.

It was reported that Mr. Buhari lost the presidential election as the candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change in 2011.

In 2015, APC presented Mr. Buhari as the party flag bearer for the presidential election, which they later won.

APC makes history to be the first opposition party to win presidential elections in Nigeria.
