Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Lagos State Chapter, has expressed appreciation to the state government for distributing palliatives to female journalists in the state.

NAWOJ Chairperson Adeola Ekine, who received the palliatives on Friday with her Secretary on behalf of the female journalists, said the distribution has confirmed that the state government is interested in the welfare of journalists across the state irrespective of their background.

Ekine said the palliatives will be shared across various chapels in the state most especially the vulnerable female journalists, disabled and elderly.

She said despite all odds, the administration of the state governor Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu is magnanimous and NAWOJ will always work hand in hand with the state government especially at this trying period as a way of contributing her quota to the smooth running of the administration objectively.

The Chairperson appreciated the governor and his cabinet for extending the gesture to female journalists at this critical time of Covid-19 global pandemic.

She prayed that globally, the pandemic will soon be a thing of the past as the female journalists discharge their duties with objectivity.
