Connected Development, a non-governmental organization committed to Accountability and Transparency in partnership with Action Aid Nigeria is set to hold the Lagos Youth Budget Town Hall Meeting.
The event which will have in attendance over 250 youths representing various youth groups in Lagos will hold on Friday, November 15, 2019 at the Julius Berger Auditorium in the University of Lagos.
CODE organized the event with the aim of promoting citizen participation in governance at the grassroots level and to empower youths with advocacy skills to demand for more budgetary provision and Gender Responsive Public Service for young people at the Local, State and Federal Government level.
In a press statement signed by Adesina Tosin Nathaniel, Lagos State Chapter Lead, CODE the event will avail participants “the opportunity to ask relevant questions from representatives of the Lagos state government as relating to its Budgeting process for Education, Agriculture, Youth Empowerment and Gender responsive service delivery.
“At the end of the meeting, it is expected that Youths in Lagos will be better armed with relevant details on the plans of the Lagos state government for its youths while the government would have used the opportunity to improve its bond with Youths in Lagos.”
Expected Speakers at the Town Hall Meeting include, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State, Commissioners for Education Mrs. Folashade Adefisayo, Agriculture Mr. Gbolahan Lawal, Budget and Economic Planning Mr. Sam Egube, Youth and Social Development Mr. Segun Dawodu, Barrister Tokunbo Wahab, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Education, Mr. Dayo Israel Permanent Board Member, Lagos SUBEB and State Legislators.
