Amotekun’s planned protest scheduled to hold this morning in Lagos has been halted by the officials of the Nigerian Police Force.

Our reporter who was at the proposed venue, Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park, Ojota confirmed that over 10 police vans were parked at the park to discard protesters.

The controversial Operation Amotekun was recently set up by South West Governors to address salient security issues in the region.

These security issues include the Herdsmen attack, kidnapping, robbery among others.

Despite the controversy surrounding the community policing, security outfits, have been endorsed by different notable southwest leaders including Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Bode George.

Lagos State Government is yet to release a statement on the outfit.
