The African Journalists with Disabilities has released the second edition of the Africa Inclusive News, a continental publication dedicated to amplifying disability rights, inclusive development, and the voices of journalists with disabilities across Africa.

The second edition released in 2026 showcases stories of progress, resilience, and policy reforms shaping a more inclusive continent.

The publication also highlights key developments from across Africa, demonstrating the growing influence of journalists with disabilities in driving public discourse and social change.

Among the featured stories are the passage of the Kenya Sign Language Bill, an interview with disability inclusion advocate Susan Kelechi Ihuoma, and comprehensive coverage of the 2026 International Albinism Awareness Day activities in Nigeria.

The edition also includes an in-depth report on how journalists with disabilities are advancing disability inclusion within Zambia’s media landscape, documents the progress of disability legislation in Zambia, and captures the resolutions of disability ecosystem leaders in Tanzania, who are calling for stronger collaboration to advance disability rights across Africa.

Speaking on the release, the editorial team noted that Africa Inclusive News is more than a magazine, describing it as a platform for reclaiming narratives, celebrating achievements, and promoting journalism that reflects the lived experiences of persons with disabilities.

The publication called on governments, media organizations, civil society, development partners, and the private sector to strengthen partnerships that advance inclusive journalism and ensure that disability issues remain central to Africa’s development agenda.

The July 2026 edition of Africa Inclusive News is now available to readers across the continent and beyond, providing authentic stories that inform, inspire, and influence positive change.

Interested readers can access the magazine through the African Journalists with Disabilities’ official channels or contact the organization via info@ajwd.org.

AJwD is a pan-African movement that places journalists with disabilities at the centre of storytelling and advocacy for inclusive media.
