The Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism has announced a call for applications for its latest training programme under the Collaborative Media Project, aimed at strengthening accountability reporting among local journalists.
The initiative, titled “RUSH for Local Journalists: Strengthening Follow-up for Accountability Reporting,” is designed to equip reporters with the tools needed to drive impact beyond investigative storytelling.
According to the organisers, the programme focuses on enhancing the ability of journalists to ensure their reports lead to measurable change. “For every journalist out there who desires to make an impact with his or her stories, beyond investigative reporting, the approach to make effective change with your reports remains sacrosanct and systemic,” the statement noted, emphasizing the importance of structured follow-up in journalism.
The Centre explained that the training will provide practical strategies for accountability reporting, enabling participants to track the outcomes of their stories and engage relevant stakeholders effectively.
The organisers urged eligible journalists to take advantage of the opportunity, noting that the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen impactful journalism and promote positive change across communities.
Interested applicants have been encouraged to apply before the deadline on Thursday, April 9, 2026, while the training is scheduled to take place on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
