Convener, Agro Commodity Directorate for Sanwo-Olu’s Second Term Bid, Amb. John Adekorede Aderibigbe has joined millions of Lagosians in congratulating incumbent Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo Olu, for his victory at the March 18, Governorship Election in the State.
Governor Sanwo-Olu of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, was re-elected in Lagos State having polled a total of 762,134 votes, defeating Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party, LP, who scored 312,329 votes, distantly followed by Abdul-Azeez Adediran popularly known as Jandor, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, with 62,449 votes.
Sanwo-Olu was declared the winner at 1:15 am on Monday morning, by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, almost 48 hours after the electoral exercise commenced.
In a Statement by Aderibigbe through his Media Aide, Akinwale Kasali, he said the will of the people was what played out, saying that continuity in governance in germane in bringing development and growth to a State.
He added that for Governor Sanwo Olu to have won by a wide margin of over 400,000 shows that he is the choice of the people and the electorates have spoken by giving him their mandate.
The President, National Carrot Growers, Processors and Market Association of Nigeria, NACAGPROMAN stressed that in every society there is no perfect election, urging aggrieved Party to bury their hatchet and be sportsmanly and humble In defeat.
“I urge the opponents of Governor Sanwo Olu to embrace the olive branch by conceding defeat and work with him for the progress and development of the State.
“Sanwo Olu is a unifier and I know that irrespective of ethnicity, we should all work together for the growth, development end progress of the State by supporting the Governor as he has been duly elected to paddle the affairs of the State for the Second term”.
Aderibigbe described the electoral victory of Sanwo Olu as the will of the Lagos people to continue on the path of excellence and competence, adding that it’s a testament from Lagosians that a good term deserves another great one.
He implores the Governor not to rest on its oars but continues his development strides for the state and makes sure that the electorates enjoy the dividend of democracy.
“We earnestly look forward to continuing the seamless and symbiotic relationship between the Agro Community, optimistic that the Lagos State Government will continue and leverage on the relationship that has existed and further better the lives of our people”
