The Support Association for Fibroids Awareness (SAFA), a non-governmental organization dedicated to raising awareness about uterine fibroids, is set to launch with activities lined up to provide education and support for women with uterine fibroids.

SAFA also aims to empower individuals with knowledge of the management and treatment of uterine fibroids, including the use of High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) technology.

In a statement issued by its Manager, Wemimo Adewuni, it was revealed that there will be free consultation for women living with fibroids and an opportunity for one of the participants to win a free HIFU treatment.

The statement reads in part that “uterine fibroids are non-cancerous growths of the uterus that often appear during childbearing years. They can cause a range of symptoms, including heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, and reproductive issues.

“Despite the high prevalence of uterine fibroids, there is a lack of awareness about the condition and its treatment options. SAFA’s mission is to fill this gap by providing education and support to individuals affected by uterine fibroids.

“The organization offers resources and information on the signs and symptoms of uterine fibroids, available treatment options, and the importance of early detection. SAFA also provides a platform for individuals to share their experiences and connect with others who are facing similar challenges.

“As part of its launch, SAFA in collaboration with Fibroid Care Center, SAFA invites the public to a one-day Free Consultation for women living with fibroids. One (1) participant at the outreach will get a chance to win a FREE HIFU treatment through a raffle draw.”

The launch and free consultation session will hold on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Jalupon Estate Field off Adeniran Ogunsanya, Surulere Lagos by 12 pm.

Members of the public who are interested can attend and also seek more information by reaching out to SAFA and its initiatives, via www.safa.ng or mail info@safa.ng.  SAFA is also present on Facebook and Twitter @safa_nigeria or call (and WhatsApp) +2348035951854.

This is a laudable initiative. The platform will offer solutions to the myriads of problems facing women who are having issues on how to treat and deal with the issues relating to the treatments of Fibroids..

It is a good initiative and a welcomed achievement at ensuring that women who are having fibroid issues get the needed attention and treatment.
