A member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Gbolahan Yishawu representing Eti-Osa constituency 02 has hailed Teacher’s commitment amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

This was contained in a statement made available by his information office in commemoration of World Teachers’ Day on October 5, 2020.

Recall that World Teachers’ Day aims to focus on “appreciating, assessing and improving the educators of the world” and to provide an opportunity to consider issues related to teachers and teaching.

Yishawu said, “Though most teachers were badly hit by the economic impact of COVID-19, they remained committed to the mandate that #learningneverStops.

“Our teachers deserve, not just our appreciation, but more, importantly our support.

“Amid a global pandemic, teachers have become even more vital, as they navigate how to help students adjust to distance learning and adapt to Covid-19 safety guidelines in their classrooms”.

While celebrating the teachers across Nigeria and Lagos State, in particular, Yishawu who is the Chairman House Committee on Budget and Economic Planning, urged them not to relent in building the nation.

“The teaching profession is a noble profession that has produced great people in our country. As you celebrate your day, ensure you continue impacting lives that will contribute immensely to our great nation”, he said.
