Monitoring Spirits, one of EbonyLife Creative Academy’s first cohort films makes the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) Official Selection. The film which has won six awards including Best Film, Best Actress, and Best Actress in a supporting role, Best Editing, Best Script was directed by David Ukomadu.
The film is about a young woman who mourns the death of her father, while yearning to break free from her controlling mother’s new conservative husband and their expectations for her to conform to a life she no longer wants.
The fifteen minutes long film was produced by Toyin Ganiyu, Kehinde Adégboyega, and Joel Edeh. It was written by Hajarat Alli. It was submitted for competition at AFRIFF and it made it to the Quarter Finals of the festival.
