Kingsley Moghalu, presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party, YPP has unveiled his campaign agenda for the 2019 election tagged, ‘Build, Innovate & Grow’.
Moghalu also promised to replace old politicians who have been controlling the country since independence, making them go into permanent retirement.
Moghalu, who launched his campaign agenda at the Handshake Across Nigeria Towards a Productive Nigeria with the theme: Nigeria Beyond Oil, disclosed that he’s the first presidential candidate to write a book about his campaign promises and manifesto.
Urging the youths, who constitute the highest percentage of the voting population to support him, Moghalu said: “I want the youths to join me in this agenda to repair the nation and the replacement and permanent retirement of those who have held us in bondage for too long.”
Moghalu maintained that his vision for Nigeria goes beyond dependence on oil but to restructure the country.
He said, “Restructuring has become the latest talk among everyone even to those who do not understand what restructuring is. My vision of restructuring is one in which Nigeria returns to a proper federation where there are two levels of government and nonsense is superior. There will be central and subnational which would be the six geopolitical zones. Restructuring must come with complete resource control.”
The former CBN DG Operations noted that exporting natural resources is a recipe for poverty asserting that every raw material and natural resources will be produced in the country before exporting.
He also stated that if elected, his administration would ensure there’s a new constitutional order than what has been used in the country since the military era.
Speaking at the Handshake Across Nigeria was the presidential candidate of the KOWA Party, Fagbenro Shina Bryon who also reeled out his agenda for the nation if elected in 2019.
Bryon stressed that his main campaign focus is what he tagged ‘Dignify Inclusion’ and that the nation’s diversity cannot be ignored but should be used to advance the nation.
He also mentioned that restructuring is not negotiable and he is set to decentralise power and ensure accountability at all levels.
