The National Association of Women Journalists, Lagos State Chapter has called on the Federal and Lagos State Government to speed up works on all the on-going road repair projects in Lagos State.
The association made the call in a communiqué issued at the end of its November Congress and jointly signed by Chairperson, Adeola Ekine and Secretary, Lilian Ario stressing that the delay is affecting road users.
“The Federal government need to speed up the completion of the rail line along Yaba-Mushin road as this is affecting the road users and open up inner routes on the Lagos -Ibadan express road as this is now a death trap following hoodlums attack on motorists at nights.
“There is need for the concerned government to repair all the damage roads as man hours are lost and this is affecting productivity, particularly Lagos- Badagry express way, Ikorodu road, Ijegun-Ikotun road among others.”
NAWOJ also commended the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Adulrahman Abdulrazaq, for being gender sensitive on inclusion of nine (9) women in his cabinet and encourages other state governors to emulate him.
