The Lagos State Civil Society Partnership, LACSOP, has said it is ready to offer citizens solutions in line with the THEME Agenda of the incoming administration to help achieve a greater Lagos.
The body for Civil Society groups in Lagos noted that it is interested in building a greater Lagos, hence the reason to partner with the incoming administration through citizens’ participation which would help drive the success of the outlined intended projects of the incoming administration in the state.
At the end of a two day stakeholders meeting with various citizens group, LACSOP developed a working document through which it can offer adequate support to the Sanwo-Olu Administration by leveraging on the THEME Agenda.
Chairman, Steering Committee, LACSOP, Barr Ayo Adebusoye explained that the focus of the group is to make available valuable resources to the incoming administration and to ensure that there’s effective citizens participation.
Asebusoye added that, “We are set to present innovative and cutting edge strategies to the incoming administration and we have keyed into the THEME agenda. So, we’re not bringing new plans, we’re only providing support to ensure the promises of the incoming governor are fully achieved.
“As citizens group, we want to offer our best to achieve a greater Lagos and our campaign is hinged on ‘Partnership for a greater Lagos – Agenda 2023’. We understand that the government cannot do it alone and we are ready to give our support.”
Speaking on the challenges facing certain sectors, Adebusoye noted that, “we know there are unique challenges in Lagos but there are immense opportunities that could be tapped into to address it, and as a civil society group, we are ready to work with the government to ensure citizens’ needs are met.”
Adebusoye disclosed that LACSOP would meet with the Lagos State governor elect, Babajide Sanwo-Olu before swearing-in so the propositions can help in the formulations of his policies and work with various citizens group.
For her part, Dr. Ashiru Ajoke Sariyu, LACSOP member and former president of FOMWON, Lagos State Chapter, buttressed that the group is committed to help Sanwo-Olu achieve his focus and promises for the people of Lagos.
