The Nigeria office of Save the Children International (SCI) has announced Kunle Olawoyin as its Media and Communication Manager.
Announcing the appointment in a press statement, Amanuel Mamo, Director of Advocacy and Campaigns, SCI Nigeria, revealed that, Mr Olawoyin who joined SCI in 2018 as Information and Communication Coordinator, was later assigned as Information and External Communication Specialist, to date.
The statement reads in part that, “before his appointment at Save the Children, Kunle worked as a journalist in broadcast and print media, including in Rhythm 93.7fm, the defunct National Interest and National Mirror Newspapers.
“He joined the humanitarian and development world in 2008 working with local, national and international non-governmental organizations, namely, Nigerian Conservation Foundation, Oxfam GB and Oxfam International as Media and Communications Officer.
“In terms of his educational qualification, Kunle holds Bachelor Degree in Mass Communication and Masters Degree in Communication Studies. He also graduated with an LL.B Law Degree, and he’s presently pursuing his Masters in Law (LL.M) Degree, with a specialization in Constitutional and Human Rights Law.
“Being a former media practitioner and an adequately trained expert in the field, Kunle brings an added value to the SCI Nigeria’s vision of becoming the foremost campaigning organization with, and for children and the recognized voice for their rights to survive, learn and be protected.
“Kunle has acquired and developed organizational knowledge and enriched his skills, competencies over the years with SCI and proved to be fit moving towards an exciting opportunity and new challenges as Media and Communication Manager.”
