BONews Service is proud to introduce ‘Allies’, a new storytelling series that shines a light on the often-unheard voices powering the disability movement. Allies is a spin-off from our acclaimed Disability Champions Series (DCS), authored by the Deaf writer, Alexander Ogheneruemu.

DCS has profiled over two dozen remarkable individuals with disabilities who are breaking barriers and driving inclusion. Now, Allies turn the spotlight on those who stand beside them.

This new series will honor individuals, parents, siblings, friends, educators, advocates, and organisations whose support, empathy, and commitment make a lasting impact in the lives of persons with disabilities. This series is worth it because Allies play a crucial role in shaping the journeys of PWDs — offering encouragement, access, and opportunities that help them thrive in an inclusive world.

Allies, like DCS, will be authored by Alexander Ogheneruemu. The first part in the Allies series spotlights Nadim Salim, father of Deaf and disability inclusion advocate, Kashaf Salim, whose unwavering support shaped his son’s path to leadership.

The first part will be published on October 18, with subsequent parts to be published monthly. Stay tuned as BONews Service continues to amplify the diverse voices driving inclusion and equality. Follow the Allies series on our website and our social media platforms.
