The Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon Moshood Obe, has formally presented documents of a parcel of Land to Neurological Disorders Care Association (NDCA) to build an Inclusive School and Therapy Center to ensure that children with Disabilities (CWDs) have access to quality education.
According to the letter signed by the Council Manager, Mr. Ajagunna O.O., the land given to NCDA is in response to a request made by the association in October 2023.
The land is situated at Aigbaka in Ejigbo LCDA. The Association is expected to utilize the land for the intended purpose within 6 months.
While receiving the documents from the Council Executives led by the Council Chair, Mr Saka Mohammed, NDCA President commended the Council Chair and all officials for their support and for honoring the association’s request.
Mr. Mohammed said, “we’re delighted that after a series of meetings and engagements with the Council Head, our request has been granted, and this would go a long way to support children with disabilities and help them to access quality education.”
The NDCA President thereafter appealed for support from relevant stakeholders to ensure that the land is utilized within six months, as stipulated.
“The land that we have acquired is a great achievement for is, but we need to build it, and we will require a lot of resources. We’re seeking support from all quarters to help us achieve this dream so that our children with disabilities can access education,” he added.
In attendance at the official presentation of the land documents to NDCA were the NCDA President, a member and mother of two CWDs, Alhaja Kasumu, the NDCA PRO, Mrs Faseye Tosin and other council officials.
