BONews Service, an online development news platform that focuses on women, persons with disabilities and children, is set to host a session on digital accessibility for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) at the 2023 edition of the Digital Rights and Inclusion Forum (DRIF) organized by Paradigm Initiative (PIN).
In a press statement issued by Blessing Oladunjoye, the Publisher of BONews Service, “the session titled: ‘Digital Accessibility: Eliminating Digital Barriers among Persons with Disabilities’ will explore the challenges experienced by persons with disabilities in the digital space, and how innovations in technology can be incorporated into digital solutions and drive independent living and digital inclusion for persons with disabilities.”
Oladunjoye buttressed that the session will bring together “tech experts and PWDs, who would examine how digital accessibility can help to eliminate every form of digital barrier and enhance sustainable internet for all.”
She also added that “the session will propose new and modification of existing legal and policy frameworks on digital accessibility, to eliminate digital barriers among persons with disabilities in Africa.”
Speakers at the session are Blessing Oladunjoye of BONews Service; Olamide Mobolaji, Software Developer; and Sally Nduta, Chief Executive Officer, United Disabled Persons of Kenya (UDPK).
