Towards eradicating the challenges of unemployment in the country, Odu’a Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture in partnership with West Africa Vocational Education launched a series of policy dialogue sessions across South West States.
The dialogue which has been slated to hold in all states across the South West except Lagos, kick started in Ekiti State.
Themed: ‘Post COVID-19 Rethinking Talent: Rewiring the Education to Employment System’, the dialogue sessions aimed to address the challenges and opportunity faced by all sides of the youths in education to employment value chain.
In a statement issued by the chamber, it was noted that the dialogue sessions is to provide solution to manpower industrial needs of members of Chambers of Commerce and other organized private sector in the southwest while preparing the education sector and youths organization in formulating policies suitable to fill the 5-10 years need-gap.”
Participants at the meeting include, “Commissioners of youth and sport, Commissioner of Education and Commissioner of Commerce and Industry in all the states where the events are taking place alongside youth based NGOs, HR companies, Dean of school of managements of selected universities and captains of industries.
“This is to draw their unique experiences and ideas through which a solution -oriented session, to discuss opportunities for a seamless education to employment traffic,” the statement added.
