Executives of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists have commended the Air Peace Airline for its recent intervention towards the smooth repatriation of Nigerians during the xenophobic attacks in South Africa.
The Association gave the commendation when executives of the Lagos Chapter alongside Oyo Chapter paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the airline, Barrister Allen Onyema.
Air peace offered Nigerians in South Africa free flight from South Africa to their respective place of residence in September 2019, this action follows the killings of Nigerians in South Africa.
NAWOJ executives deemed it fit to extend love to Air Peace following the airline action towards the Citizens.
At the course of meeting, the journalists highlighted few activities the airline commenced which they find benefiting and befitting to the society, they as well extend hands of relationship and future engagements with the airline.
Chairman NAWOJ, Lagos Chapter; Comrade Adeola Ekine applauded the airline for starting international service trip in July, 2019. She also affirmed that she’s impressed with their services during her patronage.
Comrade Jadesola, Chairman NAWOJ Oyo chapter, said “Air Peace is a patriotic airline, they choose to be different, we’re impressed and decided to not only identify with them but also give an award of recognition. We call on other airlines to emulate Air Peace and not just to render services for money but also humanitarian service”, she added.
The team also called on Nigerians to care for another, take up responsibilities, in pursuit of a better, safer and peaceful Nigeria.
Onyema Commending their interest and initiatives, thanked the team for recognising the airline services and promised to build a healthy relationship with the association.
Also in attendance at the meeting were; Head of Operation Air Peace; Efeoghene Osifor Secretary Lagos Chapter NAWOJ; Comrade Lilian Ario and Secretary Oyo NAWOJ; Comradea Stella Oyebanji respectively.
