The Girls Show Nigeria held her national young women summit on October 11, 2023, bringing together a diverse group of young women. Under the theme of “Thriving Through Tough Times,” the summit ignited a sense of empowerment and resilience among the young women in attendance.
With the lineup of speakers, the summit kickstarted with an enlightening discourse on physiological wellness led by Dr Ololade Kehinde, followed by an engaging self-defence session by Coach Samuel Adejebe of Samchi Karate Academy.
Other female figures from various sectors, including Dr. (Mrs) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, represented by Mrs Funmilayo Omotosho; Titilope Adeboye, a reverend Pastor and entrepreneur; Juliet Ubanatu, the visionary Founder of AntySolution; Veekee James, an exemplary entrepreneur, and Moromolowatiketike Abolaji, a renowned digital influencer were in attendance to share their knowledge and experiences, encouraging young women to make a difference in their communities.
Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, the Commissioner for Youth & Social Development, Lagos State, delivered the keynote address, infusing the event with invaluable insights and fatherly advice.
Beyond the discussions, the summit featured a range of interactive activities, from relationship counselling to health and career discussions to talent showcases and karate lessons.
As the event concluded, Olamipeju Adekunle extended her gratitude to the team, guest speakers, and participants. She emphasized the transformative impact of investing in the growth of young women, envisioning a future defined by their collective success.
“I believe we add value to our nation by adding value to our young women,” she added.
