The Citizens of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Ogun State have prepared a charter of demands for their political representatives.
The charter of demands comprises of the challenges faced by citizens and the recommended solutions.
According to the Convener of the Ado-Odo/Ota Citizens Engagement Platform, Mr. Adeshola Afariogun, in a statement made available to the press, there is a need for citizens to lend their voice in shaping the future of their communities.
He therefore called upon all relevant stakeholders to propose solutions that will ignite the transformation of the Local Government.
Mr Afariogun added that after the compilation of the charter of demands from all citizens, the document would be validated at a Town Hall meeting in September 2023.
He affirmed that the document would be signed by nothing less than one thousand citizens and thereafter presented to the State and Federal Legislators from Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government.
“Citizens are encouraged to be part of this process by completing an online form.
Alternatively, they can approach their traditional leaders or community leaders for guidance on how to add their voice to the charter of demands”, he said.

The Ado-Odo/Ota Citizens Engagement Platform is an initiative of the African Foundation for Environment and Development (AFED).
The platform has become a veritable tool for driving accountability from public servants, encouraging citizens’ participation in governance, and promoting mutual understanding for sustainable development in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government.”
